If you like the taste of espresso but it’s over too soon, stretch out the drink by adding some hot water in either a 2:1 ratio or 3:1 ratio. Put on some classic Italian tunes, call it a Caffe Americano and enjoy with a small biscuit.

Ingredients

  • Beautiful espresso beans
  • A double shot of espresso
  • 60-90ml freshly boiled water

  1. Pull an espresso
  2. Add either 60 or 90ml (depending on how strong you want it) to a mug
  3. Slowly pour over the espresso, this maintains the caramel-coloured crema on top
