A beautiful triple-layered coffee drink that merges coffee, which originated from Ethiopia, with matcha, the pinnacle of green tea, from Japan. Carve out space in your day to really enjoy this culinary world tour.
Ingredients
- 1g (just a smidge short of a teaspoon) of culinary matcha
- One fresh espresso shot
- One cup of milk of your choosing. Soy goes particularly well with this combo
- 1/4 cup filtered water
- 1/4 tsp sugar, if you have a sweet tooth
Equipment
- Espresso machine
- Milk frother if your coffee machine doesn’t have one
- Milk jug
- A beautiful mug
- Thermometer
Recipe
- Blend the culinary matcha and sugar, if using, with the filtered water using the hand held frother
- Pour into the tall glass
- Heat up the milk in the frother and gently pour into the tall glass by tipping the glass on the side. You want to try to maintain the separation between milk and matcha.
- As slowly as possible, pour the espresso on top of the milk. Marvel at your culinary finesse and enjoy.
