This beautiful Portuguese drink is as refreshing as iced tea, but with a stronger kick of caffeine. Invented in 1840, it’s really popular throughout Europe.

Ingredients

  • Pour over, cold brew or areopress coffee, chilled
  • Small lemon, half (4 teaspoons of juice, if you’re the measuring kind)
  • Honey or sugar syrup
  • A couple of ice cubes

Equipment

Recipe

  1. Pour your chilled coffee into a glass until it’s 2/3 full. Add 1/2 a teaspoon of honey or sugar syrup, taste, and add in 1/2 teaspoon increments until you reach desired sweetness
  2. Add ice and juice from 1/2 a lemon, stir and enjoy

💡 To make a cocktail version, add a shot of rum and some sprigs of mint
